Play in the Sun.

Play in the Sun.

The sun is out today and the forecast has daytime temps in the high 40s all week so my intent is to get outside with the kids and soak up some rays. Sure, 40s doesn't sound all that warm but it is a welcome sight to what I have been seeing out my window this past month:

Jake shoveling the walks on a Sunday morning. Church was cancelled and I was supposed to teach, sweet!

The neighbors bring out their trusty tractors to help dig everyone out of their garages.

Still waiting for snow piles to melt in our circle.

This is my favorite. While waiting in the car at the bus stop (yes, we have to drive to our bus stop because our roads are "too steep"...retarded) we watched this city employee try to push through waist-deep snow with a snowblower. Ten minutes later, he had moved maybe a couple of inches through the snow wall. Obviously defeated, he turned to the side, fell straight back and laid down on the snow shelf he had created and made a call on his cell phone, to the city explaining his predicament no doubt. Clearly whoever was in charge on the other side of the call could not phathom what I was seeing because before the bus came, he was back at it. When I went to pick Taylor up from the bus that afternoon the disgruntled employee, and his snowblower, were gone and no more progess had been made. (You can see in this photo the snowblower is barely taller than the snow).
